The role of the Legislatures to the people they represent

Chapter 8 of the Kenyan 2010 Constitution article 94 clearly defines the role of the Parliament. The chapter only speaks of Legislature.
On the article 95 the roles are defined for National Assembly.
When Kenyans voted the Members of Parliament in to the house, the major role and task was representation and the constituents were to ensure proper representation by voting in accountable leaders, leaders with integrity and competency.
When these individuals assumed the office they forgot the main reason for them to be in that room instead they just showed an early sign of _tumbocrat_ person.
When the Cabinet Secretaries were nominated,it is the MPs who vetted and approved them, indeed they did their constitutional role.
The Government through the Presidency have given a greenlight to Genetically Modified Organisms, with an excuse to curb the fangs of hunger.
Farmers are harvesting their maize and the Government through the Trade ministry have gazetted importation of bags of maize which had docked at the Mombasa Port. Lately , Kenya Ports Authority has confirmed docking of Maize grains from  a country southern of Africa.
All these are under umbrella of famine, that they importation is to boost the inadequate maize available in the country, Kenya.
It should not be forgotten that all these are lying at the hands of the Members of Parliament, whom you as the voter or as  citizen voted for.
The MPs are there to represent you as the citizen. Your interest should therefore be paramount to him or her .
When GMOs are going to gain entry into the country, then get to know that as a citizen who practiced a Democratic right of voting you have been betrayed by your own Member of Parliament, when the Maize contaminated with aflatoxin will gain entry into the country then know that your MP has failed you. Just to say that in any case anything dangerous gets introduced into the country and you're unpleased with it and it is in one way or another threatening the life, then just get to know that as a citizen you have been failed by your Member of Parliament.
The Members of Parliament have also the role of doing oversight role on the Government, they have the roles bestowed to them as Legislatures to approve, disapprove  the Government's initiatives, so long as they feel it best fit to serve your interest, these roles are enshrined in the Kenyan Constitution of 2010.
It is these MPs who approved the nomination of the Cabinet Secretaries attached to the dockets relating to GMOs, these dockets are such as Health ministry, Trade ministry and Agriculture ministry but they are not limited to these as Treasury is also responsible for giving funds in driving various  initiatives.
Tomorrow, when the Citizens will be dying of various diseases then it is MPs who legislates euthanasia indirectly.
This is why it usually calls for serious scrutiny and vetting while voting these people. Some are just tumbocrats and their political move not service to humanity but service to self interest.
I cannot fail to give an example of Siaya County Assembly, which gave an approval of Orengo's CECs.
The Members of County Assembly clearly vetted and approved all the County Executive Committee members even though it is clear that some did not qualify for the dockets they were nominated for. The speaker later have an ultimatum that failure of those to deliver they will be impeached. This is a clear scenario at the county level where MCAs have failed the people they are representing.
The Siaya Members of County Assembly chose to please one individual at the expense of the Siaya people, so sad indeed. This is what may apply nationally.
Remember if the government brings in dangerous substances and policies,it is Members of Parliament to be blamed, for it is their role. Remember they approve, disapprove, and amend laws to block the through holes.

SINGAPORE AND KENYA: DAY AND NIGHT

Kenya got its independence 1963 from the British colony, while Singapore got it two years in the month of August 9, 1965 from Malaysia after they had intense political differences which resulted to racial riots. Standing on the mirror line reflecting on the two countries between Kenya and Singapore, Kenya is extremely behind Singapore in terms of development.  Singapore hastily rose from third world country to first world country while Kenya still maintained the third world class.  Recently, Kenya's President Dr. William Ruto, is full of comparison statements: between Kenya and Singapore. Surprisingly, the phrase of boosting Kenya's world class has taken a beautiful twist where every politician is dreaming of Kenya to be futuristically the same level as Singapore. Pausing a bit, what's a dream? pondering on this; a dream literally means imaginary events while sleeping.  Our politicians are forgetting the dogmatic saying that goes 'action speaks louder than...

THE CHANGE EXPECTED IN REVERSE: GEN Z'S FADING STRENGTH

Photo Courtesy   Waking up to find the sun rising from the West and not East at dawn is enough to signal a whirl of change in the cosmological history. As a product of imagination it can be, who knew Gen Z would emerge as with a wave of change in a sundry of generations unexpectedly.  With this wave, the political sphere in every country worldwide is experiencing an overhaul.  Recently, protests have marred different countries with calls for change.  Bangladesh, Nepal, Morocco, Madagascar, Kenya are some of the countries that have at least tasted the pinch of the GenZ protests, while some of the protests have resulted in a change in the political sphere of the affected countries others have left less impact with mission and vision unreached due to fanciful impulse.  Generation Z, globally have not only expressed their anger through anger through protests and demonstrations, but also in politics where some of the African countries like Seychelles and...

NOT-NOW: HAVE SOME HUMANITY

photo courtesy (unknown) A person cannot retract a message that has reached a mass audience invariant of where it was said. One of the characteristics of communication is that you cannot uncommunicate.  A silent person remains wise until he utters a word. His Excellency Mutahi Kahiga might exemplify this phrase considering his tracenda during his speech at a funeral in Kiambu county, where he was addressing them in the local dialect.  Mr. Kahiga, seems to be deficient in emotions especially concerning the latest tragedy that befell the country when he cast aspersions on Raila Odinga's demise.  Raila Odinga, without doubt was akin to mumbo-jumbo within the luo community yet to his capacity during his lifetime did he not only benefit the Luo but became a national figure and perhaps a trademark in Kenya's politics.  In the history of human life, man is mortal and from soil we come, to soil shall we return. Regardless of the circumstances, man is...
