KENYANS ARE TIRED

The fuel prices have for another period gone up.
Kenyans are suffering through the harsh economic situation, they wade through problems.
The Government they hoped to help them and be their Messiah is now sweltering them.
Kenyans voted in current leaders having in mind the cliché "Better option" only for better to be bitter.
A year has turned, no happiness, nothing to celebrate, no pride to get.
Today, fuel prices have hiked and reached Ksh. 210.
Is this not worth lamenting?
Imagine your father promised you cake, brace yourself for that cake and surprisingly he brings you ugali, how will you react? Then the father in defence tells you that go get cake for yourself, and he has not given you recipe of preparing it, he even refuses to give you wheat.
Natural resources on Kenyan land belongs to the Government. The constitution article 71, states clearly and the individual citizen have no authority over such resources.
Could it be that way, then in DR Congo citizens would not be in impoverished state, in Niger state every citizen could have been rich.

In Kenya, petroleum was discovered in Turkana. The common person has no authority over that instead, the Government took up the initiative on the oil that was discovered.
The performance indices per county ever since we adopted devolution has not been that positive most of the time.
In Migori, at Macalder, the gold mining area. The miners were crying foul about a month ago over gold mineral which they said they do not benefit from the mineral, since after mining the mineral is being packed in a tipper truck then ferried to somewhere out of their vicinity, they alleged that it is the national Government's involvement in the mining scheme and taking away gold without the residents being given a penny. Later an official from a Government official came out and urged the miners to obtain license such that they be operating on the legal grounds. When a business is licensed, automatically it is recognised and taxation will follow.

When a citizen discover gold, cobalt or any other mineral leave alone petroleum the Government will first relocate such a citizen and then take ownership of the land.

"I see Kenyans on Twitter complaining about the cost of living from morning to evening. How will that help? They are complaining about the high cost of fuel, why don't they drill their own oil? I am willing to help them drill," ~ CS. Trade, Moses Kuria said.

Such statement are unpalatable especially from the public figure such as Cabinet Secretaries or any other executive member.
For instance, could that petroleum be all over the Kenyan soil and citizens given the chance of drilling it on their, could this not lead to anarchy? Where would it be sold? How would the economy of the country be like? And that is why Government exist.
The Government exist to ensure equality in terms distribution of resources, to destroy the buffer that may be established by high class and lower class.

Should it said that we elected those full of bravado and has no interest on 'mwananchi'. Then it is true people change. The leader should be one in front in unifying a nation, words from a leader should not be that which demoralises citizens.
We are Kenyans, even the leaders serving and representing the plebs are Kenyans, no one is a stranger or a visitor in this country. When Moses Kuria utters such statements, he seems to be one called from Planet Mars to serve on Earth, he is like thinking everything is just being done and speaking is automatic no matter what,  no matter where and when.
Hiking of fuel prices, is one of the ways that harms common citizens.
Fuel is the backbone of every basic commodity's availability, and it is always evidenced that whenever there is shortage of fuel in the country, every sector suffers and when the price is hiked then so is the basic commodities, like it was experienced when there was fuel shortage in the country in the last quarter of the year 2022.
How would it be wise for the Cabinet Secretary, Trade Hon. Moses Kuria to urge Kenyans to be patient and promise them how they are working to bring everything to be at a better scale than spewing words that are worthless to the ears of the people.

He is simply telling the Kenyans who he is. He is exposing how His Excellency Dr. William Ruto entrusted him with a position he cannot handle and he was just awarded without any merit.

This is the time Government should come at rescue of the citizens who are feeling the pressure of high cost of living.
There is undeniable politics inside the country but development should be championed than the politics.
Kenyans are feeling sad when what they anticipated is not taking place and theatrical individuals who only speaks of what people want to hear and not implementing anything good in turn.
Kenyans are tired. Tired of the drama, tired of the roadside promises, tired of the under-fulfilled promises.
Leaders should be humane enough.

SINGAPORE AND KENYA: DAY AND NIGHT

Kenya got its independence 1963 from the British colony, while Singapore got it two years in the month of August 9, 1965 from Malaysia after they had intense political differences which resulted to racial riots. Standing on the mirror line reflecting on the two countries between Kenya and Singapore, Kenya is extremely behind Singapore in terms of development.  Singapore hastily rose from third world country to first world country while Kenya still maintained the third world class.  Recently, Kenya's President Dr. William Ruto, is full of comparison statements: between Kenya and Singapore. Surprisingly, the phrase of boosting Kenya's world class has taken a beautiful twist where every politician is dreaming of Kenya to be futuristically the same level as Singapore. Pausing a bit, what's a dream? pondering on this; a dream literally means imaginary events while sleeping.  Our politicians are forgetting the dogmatic saying that goes 'action speaks louder than...

THE CHANGE EXPECTED IN REVERSE: GEN Z'S FADING STRENGTH

Photo Courtesy   Waking up to find the sun rising from the West and not East at dawn is enough to signal a whirl of change in the cosmological history. As a product of imagination it can be, who knew Gen Z would emerge as with a wave of change in a sundry of generations unexpectedly.  With this wave, the political sphere in every country worldwide is experiencing an overhaul.  Recently, protests have marred different countries with calls for change.  Bangladesh, Nepal, Morocco, Madagascar, Kenya are some of the countries that have at least tasted the pinch of the GenZ protests, while some of the protests have resulted in a change in the political sphere of the affected countries others have left less impact with mission and vision unreached due to fanciful impulse.  Generation Z, globally have not only expressed their anger through anger through protests and demonstrations, but also in politics where some of the African countries like Seychelles and...

NOT-NOW: HAVE SOME HUMANITY

photo courtesy (unknown) A person cannot retract a message that has reached a mass audience invariant of where it was said. One of the characteristics of communication is that you cannot uncommunicate.  A silent person remains wise until he utters a word. His Excellency Mutahi Kahiga might exemplify this phrase considering his tracenda during his speech at a funeral in Kiambu county, where he was addressing them in the local dialect.  Mr. Kahiga, seems to be deficient in emotions especially concerning the latest tragedy that befell the country when he cast aspersions on Raila Odinga's demise.  Raila Odinga, without doubt was akin to mumbo-jumbo within the luo community yet to his capacity during his lifetime did he not only benefit the Luo but became a national figure and perhaps a trademark in Kenya's politics.  In the history of human life, man is mortal and from soil we come, to soil shall we return. Regardless of the circumstances, man is...
