A person cannot retract a message that has reached a mass audience invariant of where it was said. One of the characteristics of communication is that you cannot uncommunicate.
A silent person remains wise until he utters a word. His Excellency Mutahi Kahiga might exemplify this phrase considering his tracenda during his speech at a funeral in Kiambu county, where he was addressing them in the local dialect.
Mr. Kahiga, seems to be deficient in emotions especially concerning the latest tragedy that befell the country when he cast aspersions on Raila Odinga's demise.
Raila Odinga, without doubt was akin to mumbo-jumbo within the luo community yet to his capacity during his lifetime did he not only benefit the Luo but became a national figure and perhaps a trademark in Kenya's politics.
In the history of human life, man is mortal and from soil we come, to soil shall we return. Regardless of the circumstances, man is a social being on earth, and they share emotional attachment thereby making it hard for one to be happy over the demise of another, recently, there have been a backlash between two parties over remarks that was made by Governor Mutahi Kahiga, which was tacenda but with deep or light scrutiny in the ears of some listeners it was callous.
The remarks, which so far have escalated to tribalism, thereby resulting in advertent tribal war, depending on the perception of every listener and interpreter of the information.
In Kenya, there are approximately 42 ethnic groups, therefore by generalization, everybody in one way or the other is a victim of tribalism (unconsciously tribal).
Since Kahiga's issue has taken another angle as other parties
Tribalism should not carry the day as it may be assumed, on the bezel, I may let the tribal cards slip off, what therefore remains is an iota of humanity; emotional, and social. Some of the key portraits that characterize human beings is how they behave emotionally and interact socially.
The insensitivity portrayed by his excellency were hurtful especially on the wee bit moments of sorrows , when the wounds have not yet healed.
Despite asking for forgiveness and becoming a tinkerer of his sentiments nothing changes, but the least he or leaders of his ilk should avoid is by dragging a greater community so as to be appealing. Even though in the political market, tribe and numbers are usually used as bargaining chips but good timing wins when everything is definitely planned, knowing what to say, and doing in a particular place at what time and where.
At least if we cannot allow diversity in terms of ethnicity be the strength then morality and conscious emotions guide through.
