Churches Again!
Kenyan politicians should desist from attending churches as a way of getting masses, let each one organize mass on his or her own.
While doing politics, leaders usually prefer weekends and majorly on Sundays in order to get masses and sell their aspirations to the congregants.
In 2022, Dr. Canon Ida Odinga, was bashed when she breached an idea about church regulation when the current government during their hay days in their opposition intensed their campaigns in churches as the congregants were the target voters. Luckily, church was the conduit for the majority of present political leaders to assume the seats.
The trend still continues when churches are still being used as the platform for political campaigns.
The Office of the Attorney General through its boss Dorcas Oduor, has revealed that they receive about 60 registration requests for churches.
In Rwanda, some of the churches were shut down on the basis of their doctrines and the government of the republic of Rwanda regulates religious institutions.
Kenya should not be an exception to such a rule so that they become manageable and politics should not go hand-to-hand to the gospel teaching.
Tear gas in churches is not new in the country, attacks as well seems not an anomaly yet religious places are some of the considered holy, heinous activities are termed sacrilegious.
Kenyans need to be wary lest they whine and gnash as they currently do yet the norm is engrained in the system.
There are many open places, stadia and halls to organize rallies and stage political gatherings but not churches.
However, politicians do not carry the burden just like Jesus who was helped to carry the cross, the leaders carry the huge burden since even after them being in cognizance to the puritanical rule that politics and word of God are immiscible, they still permit and give podiums to such leaders.
One might wonder what does it take to stop a politician and politicians being deterred from addressing electorates who are congregants.
It all starts and stops with the leaders from the political and religious sphere.
The clergy should not allow leaders whether sage or addle-brained, rich or poor, loved or hated.
The worshipers would also stand on their feet to help their leaders know where to draw the boundaries.
Churches are supposed to be balanced and objective in their duties rather than being the purveyors of bad and good leaders. Let electorates make their decisions outside sacred places.
