Vision 2060: Why Hurry?

Kenya is making a shift from chorusing Vision 2030 to a new song of Vision 2060.

The shift in vision has been made abrupt that every person seeks to address the authenticity of vision 2060 especially at these critical moments that Kenya is experiencing a polarized political situation.
As experts could view it, that policies driving a country are formed by experts and such policies are independent of political affiliations.
President William Ruto launched vision 2060 and formed a committee that would oversee its implementation as well as drawing structural guidelines raises eyebrows.

The backlash received upon the launching is not drawn from political class alone but also from the experts, the same way the voice in this article raise concerns about the pragmatism of vision 2060 when Vision 2030 have not been reached.
Kenya's vision twenty-thirty has just flew away even before the year of the vision itself.
I am tempted to ask one prophetic question that will Vision 2060 be pushed forward should it fail to be achieved?
The reality reckon with is that Kenya might soon turn out to be the vision procrastinator.
Since 2022, Kenya has been yearning to be like Singapore, a dream that political class overly satirizes especially when they rant it on top of their vehicles that Kenya is going to be like Singapore, while another faction critiques in media platforms and rallies.
Having an obsessively admiration of another person is not bad, it turns out that these are just to woo and charge the public yet nothing is being done on the ground that can be felt within the citizens.
Vision 2030, Vision 2060 and other visions to come are for the benefit of a country but not to benefit a selected group.
Politicians perhaps see every loop and explicitly sympathize with the electorates and tries to solve them, until their interests get entrenched in such developmental projects.
How many past project by the previous regimes remain stalled just because of hate and personal indifferences with the current regimes. In Kenya, political tiffs usually exist between predecessors and successors and if not the tribal cards chip in just to name but a few challenges Kenya is undergoing for a project to get completed.
Sinister motives, witch-hunts and selfish interests mars Kenya's political atmosphere to an extent of unfinished projects.

Stalled projects, tribal cards, unpalatable speeches, regionalism among other things still takes centr stage in Kenya yet clearly a new vision emerges.
What has happened with the vision 2030? what are the loopholes that should be imperatively be dealt with?
Visions are not manifestos to get launched with the idea that within a regime it will get achieved. It transcends political and tribal imaginations and that is why it a vision.
When politics becomes the driver of the country's agenda, visions then such visions are just hot hair and are in cul-de-sac. Because the very politicians are going to analyze according to their understanding rather than from an expert point of view. Additionally, media will just invite political leaders to come and denigrate visions based on who launched it, while others will come as 'praise teams' of the incumbent regimes rather than analyzing objectively just because the master fears and loathes defiance and criticism.

Having a vision is quite a marvelous idea whose formulation requires deft players.

Vision 2030 existed and is gone, it became a password, pins, themes and topics but today let's stand up and sing a new hymn "Vision 2060"

Church as the conduit in political Arena

Churches Again! Kenyan politicians should desist from attending churches as a way of getting masses, let each one organize mass on his or her own.  While doing politics, leaders usually prefer weekends and majorly on Sundays in order to get masses and sell their aspirations to the congregants.  In 2022, Dr. Canon Ida Odinga , was bashed when she breached an idea about church regulation when the current government during their hay days in their opposition intensed their campaigns in churches as the congregants were the target voters. Luckily, church was the conduit for the majority of present political leaders to assume the seats. The trend still continues when churches are still being used as the platform for political campaigns.  The Office of the Attorney General through its boss Dorcas Oduor , has revealed that they receive about 60 registration requests for churches. In Rwanda , some of the churches were shut down on the basis of their doctrin...

Trained to lie: Time to take them out

A greater percentage of Kenya's population lives a hard life in the country while the remaining live a lavish life. "Hard living" is a song by Wailing Souls but among those in the streets of Kibra in Nairobi, Obunga in Kisumu, and Old Town in Mombasa, among other slums, it is an epitome of their livelihood. It is this reality, that those in the top ladder are satirizing. The remarks by Treasury Cabinet Secretary, Honourable John Mbadi on the majority of Kenyans consuming soda signifying the reduction in the high cost of living is unpalatable and apathetic.   Politicians in their cadres assume citizens subscribe to their ideologies only to later realize that the majority of Kenyans are awake.  The same speed and agility they have while speaking only makes Kenyan image to degenerate lest other countries alter their perception of what is Kenya. <script src="https://pl31036930.profitableratecpmnetwork.com/42/fb/6e/42fb6edaece576db30b03763452f3344.js...

Address Children's safety online

Kenya is a youthful country with 50.1% of the total population being below 18 years. According to the census done in 2019, figures show that 21.85 million are children while the latest estimate by UNICEF is 24.9 million children under the age of 18. The statistics do not only display a number to be quoted but a number that should be placed on the radar.  This is the population that is holding and driving the country in the future compared to the older generations which is in the apex of leadership and offices currently.  Ironically, the predecessors who play a major role in being the yardstick are divesting from their obligations and now it is a society where everyone rides on the mantra of freedoms and rights.  The safety of children not only in Kenya but also in other parts of the world is not worth being neglected at the expense of freedom and rights.  TikTok was sued in 2024 over the high degree of data amounts on millions of children under the age of 13, the c...
